Benelli Lencino 800 Trail Overview
An off-road soul, pure Leoncino style. Benelli introduces the new Leoncino 800 Trail, a motorcycle with a distinct off-road spirit, brought out by the double exhaust in a raised position and the 19” front wheel. This model extends the range of the Pesaro-based manufacturer and is designed to bring out the authenticity of the Leoncino line concept. This “modern-classic” two-wheeler is sporty and dynamic, an all-round evolution that shares state-of-the-art technical and style features with its road sister, the 800. The 754-cc twin-cylinder, four-stroke engine is liquid cooled and is the same as the one mounted on Leoncino 800. It unleashes 81.6 HP (60 kW) at 9000 rpm and a torque of 67 Nm (6.8 kgm) at 6500 rpm, in order to ensure pure fun and performance off-road. It features double overhead camshaft timing with 4 valves per cylinder and the double throttle body of 43 mm diameter. The wet anti-slip clutch and 6-speed gearbox are also worth mentioning. The chassis was revised in order to better tackle off-road terrains, where uneven surfaces are the currency. The frame is a tubular trellis with steel plates, the same as the road version, which ensures easy and nimble handling on the road. In turn, the suspensions have been upgraded: the Marzocchi up-side down front fork with 50 mm diameter legs, with adjustable rebound, compression and pre-load, has longer travel, from 130 mm in the road model to 140 mm in the Trail one. The same upgrade took place on the rear, with a single, central swinging arm with adjustable spring preload and rebound damping, whose travel was also increased (140 mm). As a consequence, the seat was raised from 800 mm in the road model to 818 mm in the Trail one. The knobby Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR tires, 120/70 19” in the front and 170/60 17” in the rear, complete the set of technical upgrades. The Brembo braking system, the same as Leoncino 800, is exceptionally safe thanks to the double 320 mm diameter semi-floating disc on the front and four-piston radialmount mono-block calliper, and a 260 mm diameter disc on the back with a doublepiston calliper. As another characteristic, Leoncino 800 Trail stands out for ambitious and sophisticated style elements in a perfect off-road fashion, such as the high headlight fairing located right above the full-led front light, featuring the well-known Leoncino series arc. The new double exhaust in higher position defined the bike silhouette and gives it a rally spirit. The exhaust was developed specifically for the Trail version, as well as the number plate holder and the heat shield on the side, which also bring out the off-road inclination of this model. The muscle, carved-out lines of the steel tank are in common with Leoncino 800; designed to bring out the power and dynamic appeal of this motorcycle, it features the distinctive arc, this time matched with two bumpers on the tank guard. Moreover, the Trail version features latest-technology TFT instruments on a dashboard that stands out for its modern and authentic design. The seat is envisioned to always ensure great comfort even on the toughest terrains. Underneath the seat, consistently with Leoncino 800, there is an aluminium panel thought to display the Leoncino logo. On the mudguard, the unmistakeable symbol of the range: a Lion. Leoncino 800 Trail will be available from the second half of 2020
